How to Reach Gulmarg

To reach Gulmarg, a popular hill station and skiing destination in Jammu and Kashmir, India, follow these steps:

By Air:

• Nearest Airport: The nearest airport to Gulmarg is Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport (Srinagar Airport), located about 51 km (around 2 hours’ drive) away from Gulmarg.
• From Srinagar Airport, you can hire a taxi or book a cab to reach Gulmarg.

By Train:

• The nearest major railway station is Srinagar Railway Station.
• However, the train network is not as extensive in the region. Alternatively, you can travel to Jammu Tawi Railway Station (about 290 km away), which is well connected to major cities in India, and then travel to Gulmarg by road (via Srinagar).

By Road:

• Gulmarg is well connected by road to Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir.
• From Srinagar, you can hire a taxi or take a private vehicle for the 51 km drive to Gulmarg.
• If you’re traveling from other parts of India, you can take a bus or drive via the Jammu-Srinagar highway (NH44).

Local Transportation:

Once in Gulmarg, local taxis, horse rides, and even cable cars (Gondola) are available for commuting within the town and to scenic spots.
